How This List Is Ordered

This is not a quality ranking, and we do not name a best school. Schools appear in order of how much verified program and credential data BOMAtlas currently holds for each one. The order is computed from these five components only, out of 62 points:

• Program breadth 0-20 pts
• Certification depth 0-15 pts
• Equipment and facilities 0-8 pts
• Accreditation 0-12 pts
• Financial aid eligibility (VA, Pell, WIOA) 0-7 pts

Schools with the same total are listed alphabetically. Nothing else affects the order: no commercial relationship with BOMForge, no measure of how completely we recorded a school, and no paid placement. No school pays to appear here or to appear higher.

A school further down the list may simply have less data confirmed so far. Absence of data is a gap in our records, not a negative signal about the school. Placement rates and starting salaries are shown below where a school has published them, but they do not affect the order, because we hold them for too few schools to compare fairly. The list is updated as new data is verified.
