Accelerating Access Initiative (Accelerating Access to Quality Formal Education for Syrian Refugees)
Multi-donor account created under the 2016 Jordan Compact to offset the government's cost of formal education for Syrian refugee children (tuition, textbooks, teacher training, school operating costs), delivered largely through double-shift public schools.
Reach: Double-shift model still operating in 2025; Canada alone contributed $16M to the AAI account.
QRTA's pre-service teacher diploma (est. 2016) run in partnership with the Ministry of Education and the University of Jordan with technical support from UCL Institute of Education; 20-week practicum, diploma awarded by the University of Jordan, expanded to public universities outside Amman with USAID support.
